Happy Mail Year!
Well, 2012 has been… extraordinary for me (even for my blog, which has turned out to become an e-version of my snail mail archive. 2.5 years ago, when I’d joined tumblr, I had never imagined that it would start to look like how it is now). More about that later. But despite the crazy, complicated, stressful schedules and activities (trust me, juggling between engineering studies and old - fashioned letter - writing is no easy task) that I’d been through over the past several months, there has been no greater joy than receiving snail mail from around the globe from time to time. By snail mail, I don’t mean the kind that has to do with bills/ subscriptions or those other routine things; I’m talking about the nice, creative, handwritten kind sent from a penpal / postcrosser residing in another part of the world.
And today, being the 31st of December, got me into practically counting the amount of mail that I’ve received throughout this entire year. The first piece of mail this year was a letter, which had arrived from a penpal in Finland, on Jan 2nd. And the final mail of 2012 arrived today (!) : a postcard from England (the one that’s sitting on top of the pile in this picture).
Funny as it seems, the count comes up to exactly 52! So, on an average I’ve been receiving one letter or postcard every week! How neat is that?! Of course, there have been a couple of letters that have never reached me in months, those that probably got lost somewhere in the mail traffic. But oh well, that’s life.
Here’s to another great year of snail mail happiness!
Have a fantastic 2013, everybody!

Wonderful snail mail that arrived on Christmas eve ( I couldn’t find the time to upload this earlier), sent from a penpal in Germany. Along with the greetings + postcard, she also included some beautifully wrapped tea + Lindt chocolate (the one which went mysteriously missing from the mail she’d sent the previous time).
Thank you Marie! (if you’re reading this ;) )

Now I know that I have an aversion to #insects but I couldn’t help thinking how this little(?) #worm brings such life into an otherwise dull surrounding and actually looks kinda #cute xD
